Please ensure you are accessing the online learning set for your child provided by the class teacher in Google Classroom.
If you are experiencing any problems with Google Classroom or Google Apps then please email your class teacher or ict@rydersgreen.sandwell.sch.uk.
Parent/Student Guide has been attached at the bottom of this post if you need further help.
Access Problems
Once students log on to their classroom they should be able to see all of the classes that they have been assigned to. Occasionally the classrooms will not be automatically assigned and students may not be able to see any subject areas despite having successfully logged onto Google Classroom itself.
If this is the case, it may just mean that students need to go into their school email account and accept the invitations to join the individual topic/class areas. If this still doesn’t work and no topic/class areas appear, then please contact the school.
Google Classroom App is available for download on Ipad, Iphone and Ipod Touch.
Use of other Devices to Access Google Classroom
It is also worth noting that if home learning is made difficult at home due to other householders requiring access to the main device, Google Classroom can also be accessed through a smart tv, Xbox or PlayStation using their web browser.
Instructions
However, the pupil’s guide could provide a solution in the short term, at least for pupils who still do not have access to a laptop but do have a gaming console.
Online learning using an Xbox or PlayStation
The key details are as follows:
Xbox
PlayStation
They will struggle with a gaming controller but if they have a keyboard that will be easier.
Students will not be able to work directly on nor edit documents this way but can work on paper and then photograph and email their teacher their finished work.
