Outdoor Learning with Miss Richards
At Ryders Green Primary School we value and promote the opportunity of learning outdoors. Children both enjoy and need the chance to explore and discover the world around them. It is a known fact that children respond and learn better outside. Across this country and around the world, more and more schools are seeing the benefits of outdoor learning.
The concept of learning outdoors is that children are covering all aspects of the curriculum but doing some of this outside. For example in maths using the outdoors for learning about measures, length height, area and time. In science, gaining hands on learning about plants, animals, habitats, rocks and soil. Being outside also benefits both health and well being.
During the sessions children will work with their class teacher and myself on a range of themes that are linked to the primary curriculum.
