We have all settled into our new classes in reception. We have made fantastic progress and
have been working very hard. We painted our self-portraits to be displayed in our creative
area. In Literacy, we have enjoyed looking at Julia Donaldson’s stories, such as Monkey
Puzzle and Room on the Broom. We used junk modelling materials to help us create animals
from the Monkey Puzzle story, which was a lot of fun! In Maths, we have been exploring
numbers in a variety of ways, learning to count to 10, recognising numerals, and forming
numbers.
After half term in Literacy, we will be looking at the stories’ The Day the Crayons Quit’ and
‘Stickman.’ In Maths, we will be exploring shapes and uses positional language.
