Year 1 sees the transition from the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum to the National Curriculum.
Throughout Year 1 the children have the opportunity to learn new concepts and new vocabulary. Through high expectations they develop good learning habits and positive attitudes to learning. Children are provided with high quality skills and attributes which will equip and prepare them for their journey at Ryders Green.
The children also cover a range of exciting and creative topics throughout the year including;
Autumn - 'What's it like where I live?' and 'Why do we remember the fifth of November?'
Spring - 'Where do different animals live?' and 'What was life like when our grandparents were children?'.
Summer - 'What will we see on our journey around the world?' and 'Who are our local heroes?'.
